If we abandon Iraq, as many are now calling for us to do, it will be men like
Iyad Jamal al-Din, a secular Shiite, that will suffer at the sword of the next tyrant to strangle that country. If you truly want any desires for pluralism and democracy among the peoples in the Middle East to die, then you will have no problem with us turning our backs on Iraq.
If you don't like the idea of handing Iraq over to the next Saddam or Mullah, then you will urge our representatives to not push for withdrawl. Are we the world's last best hope, the lone superpower, or are we the paper tiger that Osama bin Laden has said we are? That is not for others to decide, but is determined by our actions. Abandoning Iraq and allowing it to collapse into genocide and dictatorship will not benefit us, Iraq or the world.
