If you thought Kerry's comments were just "a bad joke"

They weren't. They were what the Democratic Party thinks of those that decide to spend their lives serving their country:

I want to make it abundantly clear: if there’s anyone who believes that these youngsters want to fight, as the Pentagon and some generals have said, you can just forget about it. No young, bright individual wants to fight just because of a bonus and just because of educational benefits. And most all of them come from communities of very, very high unemployment. If a young fella has an option of having a decent career or joining the army to fight in Iraq, you can bet your life that he would not be in Iraq.

That was Representative Charles Rangel giving his thoughts about the troops. They sound kind of familiar, don't they?

I have to ask what I think is an important question here. Are we the only country dealing with this? Even the neutral country of Switzerland, which hasn't had a military enemy since 1798, has a standing militia ready to bust their balls if there's ever a need. Yet we seem to have a political party in this country that is filled with military haters.
